As a proposed piece of legislation that would allow physicians to assist some terminally ill patients to end their lives moves forward in the NJ State Legislature, Bishop David M. National Marriage Week kicked off Feb. 7 among communities of faith across the United States. The highlight of this special week, World Marriage Day, was established by Worldwide Marriage Encounter in 1983 and is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of February. In 2019, World Marriage Day fell on Feb. 10.
As Catholic Schools Week 2019 neared its end, student representatives and school officials from Catholic schools around the state were recognized Jan. 31 in the New Jersey State House in Trenton for all that they contribute to their state and communities.
