Catholic Press Month is time to know more about your diocesan newspaper

The Catholic Church around the nation is observing Catholic Press Month, and The Monitor invites the Diocese of Trenton’s faithful to take a closer look at their diocesan newspaper, which marks its 65th anniversary this year.

In a new column, The Monitor’s associate publisher, Rayanne Bennett, asks parishioners across the four counties:  “How well do you know your diocesan newspaper?” With historic roots that date back more than 100 years, an early version of The Monitor was once the “Official Catholic Weekly of New Jersey.”  Since its establishment in 1954 as a diocesan newspaper, The Monitor has undergone many transitions to become a full-spectrum Catholic news operation and the primary content generator for the Diocese. Read Bennett’s column here.

A newly-released video promo for The Monitor makes the point that this award-winning news ministry is dedicated to sharing the stories of “Our Parishes, Our People, Our Faith” and is available everywhere that readers are:  IN PRINT, ON THE WEB, ON MOBILE.  The video can be seen here.

A special invitation is extended to the diocesan community to subscribe to The Monitor and help to carry forward its 65-year legacy well into the future.
