Bishop to celebrate funeral Mass for Father Rocco A. Cuomo

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., will be principal celebrant of a Mass of Christian Burial for Father Rocco A. Cuomo, a retired priest of the Diocese who died Nov. 21. The Mass will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 25 in St. Leo the Great Church, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, where Father Cuomo most recently served as a weekend assistant. Visitation will precede the Mass at 10 a.m. and all COVID-19 diocesan directives for indoor gatherings will be observed. Homilist will be Father John Folchetti, pastor of St. Leo the Great Parish.

Born in 1938 in Newark, Father Cuomo prepared for the priesthood at St. Charles College, Catonsville, Md., and St. Mary Seminary and University, Baltimore. He was ordained by Bishop George W. Ahr May 23, 1964, in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton.
