Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., announced the following clergy appointments:

Rev. Michael McClane, to parochial vicar, St. Dominic Parish, Brick, effective Nov. 28, 2020.

Rev. Charles Flood, O.SS.T., to temporary administrator, Incarnation-St. James Parish, Ewing, effective immediately.

Today is the first day of the U.S. Catholic bishops’ annual fall meeting. They are gathering Nov. 16-17 using a virtual format because of the coronavirus pandemic. Today’s sessions’ agenda includes an address by Archbishop Christophe Pierre, papal nuncio; Los Angeles Archbishop José H. Gomez’s first address as president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops; and a discussion of the Vatican report on Theodore E. McCarrick.
