Priest Ordination set for June 5 • Discernment BBQ

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., will ordain Rev. Mr. RJoy Ballacillo to the diocesan priesthood June 5, beginning at 10 a.m., in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton.

A native of the Philippines, Rev. Mr. Ballacillo was inspired by his older brothers who were pursuing the priesthood and a family that supported him. He entered a high school seminary when he was 11, and advanced his formation in San Pablo Seminary, also in the Philippines.  When he was 21, he followed his older brother Roy to New Jersey to prepare for the priesthood in the Diocese of Trenton.

Father Roy Ballacillo was ordained in 2017 and now serves as parochial vicar in St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford. The elder Ballacillo will have a role in the Ordination as he vests his younger brother in the stole and chasuble of a priest.

The Ordination will be livestreamed on diocesan media, including YouTube.com/trentondiocese. Among the virtual viewers will be members of the Ballacillo family, who will be watching from the Philippines.
