New priest ordained for Diocese; Bishop posts note of thanks to well-wishers for their prayers
In a poignant and emotional ceremony, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., ordained Father Rjoy Ballacillo to the priesthood June 5 in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton. Before an assembly of communicants in the Cathedral and hundreds of loved ones throughout the region and in the Philippines who watched the livestreamed event, Father Ballacillo, pledged his obedience to the Bishop and his reliance on God and received the Sacrament of Holy Orders to serve as a priest in the Diocese of Trenton.

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., expressed his appreciation June 7 to all those who have been praying for him and wishing him well during his recent illness. He wrote:
My heartfelt thanks to all the clergy, religious and faithful members of the Diocese of Trenton for your prayers and the many expressions of good wishes sent to me during my recent hospitalization. I only wish I could answer each message personally. I am feeling better each day and remain ever grateful for your prayers. May God continue to bless you and our Diocese.
