Bishop’s Lenten reflection, guidelines for new liturgical season

The liturgical season of Lent will begin Wednesday, March 6. To commemorate this new season, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. has recently issued his 2019 Lenten Reflection and instructions to his flock on the faithful observance of Lent. In his message, Bishop O’Connell shares how Lent is not just a time for us to “give up” things, but also a time to simply “give.”






Church observed National Marriage Week, Feb. 7-14

National Marriage Week kicked off Feb. 7 among communities of faith across the United States. The highlight of this special week, World Marriage Day, was established by Worldwide Marriage Encounter in 1983 and is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of February. In 2019, World Marriage Day fell on Feb. 10.
